Meet the Assistant Principals

Rhonda Shepard - 6th Grade Assistant Principal
Hello Vikings,
My name is Rhonda Shepard and I am honored to serve as an Assistant Principal at Vivian Field Middle School. I was born in Huntsville, Alabama. I attended The University of Alabama in Huntsville where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in 1995. During my time at UAH, I became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. In 1997, I graduated from Alabama A & M University with my Master’s degree in Education.
I started my teaching career in Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District as a 5th grade teacher at Tom Landry Elementary. After teaching for 9 years, I accepted a position as the Assistant Principal at Barbara Bush Middle School for 2 years and Sheffield Elementary for one year. After my time at Sheffield, I was selected to be the Principal of Riverchase Elementary. I loved working with the younger kids and making life-long friendships there with my incredible staff. After serving 6 years in this position, I took a couple of years off to pursue some outside interests. In 2015, I made a return to my first love of teaching at Dan F. Long Middle School in Carrollton. I served in the role of Instructional Dean, Math Teacher, and Math Department Chair. I was excited this position became available at Vivian Field Middle School and I’m honored to work here.
I am happily married to Michael for 27 years and we are the proud parents of Michael Shawn (25), Leslie Brooke (21), and our fur baby Bailey (10). I enjoy reading, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

Monta' Jeffley - 7th Grade Assistant Principal
My name is Monta’ Jeffley, and it is with great pride that I serve as an Assistant Principal at Field Middle School. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Educational Leadership, both from the University of Texas at Tyler.
I am entering my 12th year in education and my 4th year with Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. I began my journey in CFBISD as a teacher-coach at Creekview High School, where I taught Geometry, Fundamentals of Mathematics, and provided inclusion support. I was also honored to serve as Creekview’s Head Boys Track Coach.
After two years at Creekview, I transferred to Ranchview High School, where I taught Geometry and served as the Special Teams Coordinator for the football team. Now, I have the honor of stepping into a campus leadership role here at Field Middle School. I am excited about the opportunity to work with—and continue to serve—the brilliant students of Carrollton-Farmers Branch.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at jeffleym@cfbisd.edu.
